Now let’s dive into the nitty-gritty..
How is the Quality of this Cordless Drill?
The Tacklife 18V Cordless Drill is more of a 3-in-1 tool with a drill, hammer drill and screwdriver functions. Sometimes a basic cordless drill cannot match every task and you have to go out looking for an extra tool to fix your problem.
The product designers at Tacklife had that in mind and that’s why they packed this power tool with 3 functions, making it extremely reliable.
I also like the main body of this tool as it feels very sturdy. You can rest assured that the electrical motor within will last a lifetime without the need for fixing. The handle that holds the instrument is likewise strong and so is the chuck mechanism.
How does it feel to use?
Comfort is a top consideration when purchasing power tools. When it comes to cordless drills, it is the handle to look out for. Every other manufacturer will speak of how they’ve made their tools with ergonomic handles but until you test it you can’t know for sure.
The handle on this Tacklife cordless drill is both ergonomic and with a soft grip, which provides a comfortable feel. You can use the tool for extended periods without hand fatigue. You also don’t have to re-adjust your hand position often while using the tool.
Designed with a belt clip, this power tool provides convenience when you need it. If you want to work hands-free, just clip it on your belt and you can go around with your business.
Let’s say you are climbing a ladder and you need to keep the drill close to you. Again, no problem, clip it and carry the tool with you to the height you’ll be working.
One thing you will also appreciate is the integrated LED light, which comes in handy when working in dark spaces. Combine this with its functionalities and you have a tool to use for a wide range of tasks, any time, anywhere.
Can you Trust it?
Like all Tacklife products, this cordless drill has been thoroughly inspected and tested before coming onto the market.
As a matter of fact, Tacklife offers a 30-day money back guarantee for peace of mind. If you’re not satisfied with quality within 30 days of purchase, you can return the drill and Tacklife will gladly refund your full amount.
Alternatively, you can request a replacement with a similar drill.
In any case, all Tacklife tools are warranted to be free of defects from manufacturing and materials for a period of 2 years from the date of initial purchase.
When it comes to the field, this cordless drill benefits from 2 Li-ion batteries that increase efficiency. One battery pack has a life span of 250 cycles, also approximated to be 2-3 years of use, which is fantastic.
On top of it all, Tacklife provides reliable and helpful technical support throughout the lifetime of your tool. It goes without saying that Tacklife stands fully behind their products and that you can also buy with confidence.
What about Performance?
When speaking of drills, power, speed and torque are the key performance indicators.
This Tacklife model delivers a massive 18V, which is more than enough power for most household tasks. Just to inform you, a drill’s power is determined by the rated voltage. The higher the voltage, the more powerful the drill.
18V is the benchmark for most modern power tools, including impact drivers, hammer drills and combi drills. You can still find extremely powerful tools with a power rating of 24V, while on the lower end there are models ranging from 7V – 10V.
The Tacklife’s 18V power also gives maximum torque strength that helps overcome resistance, especially in hammering mode.
Torque itself is an important consideration as it determines the force which the drill uses to rotate. It is measured in Newton-meter (Nm).
This Tacklife 18V model delivers a maximum torque of 35Nm, making it ideal for screwing/unscrewing fasteners and drilling holes in dense materials of varied thickness.
Among the materials you can drill into using this tool include plastic, wood, metal, masonry and concrete. Thanks to 16 torque settings that allow you to match drilling force to the material you’re working on.
Generally, light materials such as plastic will require lower torque settings whilst tough concrete will call for maximum torque.
And then there’s speed, which is measured in rpm – rotations per minute. It simply tells how fast the drill rotates. The Tacklife 18V cordless drill, in particular, has 2-speed settings – 0-450/0-1600 rpm. This means you can adjust the speed to suit the job at hand.
With that said, the lower speed setting is ideal for drilling or screwdriving into softer materials, whereas the high-speed setting is perfect for harder materials.
But that’s not all…
There are also some useful additions to this tool.
One of them is the low battery indicator. Actually, there are 3 indicators on this model. A green indicator shows 50% – 100% battery life, yellow when the battery life is 30% – 50%, and red indicator when the battery is below 30%.
You can work with confidence and let this smart tool inform you when to charge the battery.
Forget about waiting too long to get going with your DIY tasks, this tool has a battery charge time of only 1 hour.
Another thing I like about this cordless drill is that it comes with a set of drill bits and driver bits. A huge bonus since you don’t have to buy bits separately.
There are 9 drill bits, 3 for wood (4, 5 and 6mm), and 6 for metal drilling (2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5 and 6mm).
Note: the maximum drilling capacity for wood is 20mm, 6mm for metal and 8mm for concrete.
In addition, there are 32 driver bits, which come in different varieties to help tackle various screw driving tasks. These are 2 x T, 9 x TH, 5 x SL, 5 x PZ, 5 x H, and 6 x PH.
Note: the chuck size of this cordless drill is 0 – 13mm. The chuck is what holds the drill bit or screw bit.
An extension bit holder is also included as well as a flexible hex shaft, which is used in places where the drill head cannot work.
The package additionally includes one charger pack, a user manual and a carrying case. The latter is very helpful for storing and transporting the tool.

Who is it suitable for?
In my opinion, anyone who’s looking for a drill with hammering action will find the Tacklife 18V Cordless drill very useful.
Of course, a regular drill driver can just be sufficient for light drilling and screwdriving jobs around the house. You can use it for building flat pack furniture and fastening wooden materials together with no major issues.
The real issue arises when you discover that you need to bore through metal or masonry and do some major fixings. Or, when you need to drive drill bits further into the work. This is where the hammer setting comes in handy.
If you are the type of person that wants to fix whatever household task that may arise in your home, the Tacklife 18V Cordless drill is your perfect buddy.
The fact that it’s a cordless drill is also another advantage. You can work virtually anywhere and without worrying about cables getting on your way.
What are People Saying…?
It is no surprise that the Tacklife 18V Cordless Drill Set is Amazon’s choice.
So far those who have used the tool love its quality, with some positive reviews regarding its hammer action.
The bit selection is another thing that is appreciated by many DIY’ers who are into drilling and screwdriving applications. Let alone the obvious magnificent power of this tool, owing to its two 18V Lithium-Ion batteries.
Others love it because of its compact size and ergonomic grip. They say it’s comfortable to hold even on the hammer setting.

What’s the Downside…?
It’s hard to point out fingers on any aspect of this tool. I found two issues raised by previous buyers but even then there are still mixed feelings.
One is the battery life, which some say is really short whilst others say its excellent. According to Tacklife, though, the drill can work continuously for 40-50 minutes in load running once fully charged.
Another issue is the quality of the carry case, which some say is cheaply made, yet everyone still appreciates it.
In my opinion, I will speak of confusion in advertising. I noticed that on the Tacklife’s website, they say the tool is 20V, whilst it is tagged as 18V on Amazon UK. We need to confirm these figures!
