OK, let’s get started…
Right off the bat, you can see that the Böhmer-AG W4500i camo petrol generator is one of the best looking generators around.
But wait until you take a look inside where all the magic happens – high-quality components designed with fuel-efficiency and top performance in mind. It runs on unleaded petrol and offers 1700W constant output and 2000W startup output.
Key Features
Let’s start by looking at the key features at a glance:
KEY FEATURES
- Fuel-efficient
- Quiet operation
- Safe to use
- Pure sine wave
Fuel-efficient
The Böhmer-AG W4500i features a state-of-the-art copper wound motor, allowing it to use fuel extremely efficiently.
It uses advanced intelligent engine management to reduce the fuel consumption by up to 40%, all without limiting the performance.
This means that you can get more power out of it while using less fuel. And since petrol can get quite expensive, efficiency is very important as it will save you money in the long run.
You also have the option to turn on the economy mode function to further cut the fuel consumption and emissions.
For a petrol generator that offers incredible power performance, it surprisingly doesn’t pollute the air all that much.
Quiet operation
You’d think that with a 4-stroke engine this generator would be very difficult to be around, but that’s not the case.
The Böhmer-AG W4500i manages to reduce its noise output to a rated 59dB, which is excellent for a petrol generator. Thanks to this feature, you could easily use this generator to power your gardening tools and work in your back garden without disturbing your neighbours too much.
You can even use the economy mode function at night to further reduces the noise if you’re taking this generator with you on campsites.
Safe and easy to use
To first start the Böhmer-AG W4500i generator, you’ll need to add oil and fuel to the tank, pull the Gen-III quick start recoil mechanism, and you’re good to go on the first pull!
You can say goodbye to your arm workouts every time you need to start a generator.
You can then use the 2 standard AC 240V 3 pin plug outlets, or the 12V DC output based on your preferences.
To ensure your safety at all times, the generator has a few advanced safety features, such as DC surge protection, AC overload detection and a low oil protection system.
The overload detection automatically shuts down the power output of the generator while still keeping the engine running. On the other hand, the low oil protection will cut out the engine if it detects that the oil level is too low. This ensures your generator will last for years to come.
Pure sine wave
Electronic devices, such as smartphones, laptops, and tablets all need a specific steady source of energy to operate properly.
Most generators have a square wave output, but the Böhmer-AG W4500i features a pure sine wave technology that allows you to charge your electronics, use your laptop, and power your larger equipment all at the same time.
This also allows you to watch the TV without any annoying lines and listen to music without any hum.

What are People Saying…?
When searching through online reviews of people who’ve bought and used the Böhmer-AG W4500i, the majority of experiences are extremely positive.
With an average rating of 4.7/5 on Amazon and more than 200 5-star reviews, the picture is clear. Users are mostly impressed by the stylish and lightweight design, along with the fact that you could sit right next to it and talk to people without shouting.
But don’t take my word for it!
This is the second generator I’ve bought but is my first inverter generator. The W4500i soon stood out after doing some research as a quality machine with low noise and a pure sine wave output. Although more costly than I had intended, I took the plunge and placed the order, it arrived the next day by courier. After reading the manual, putting oil in the sump and petrol in the tank, I pulled the starter cord and it immediately sprang to life. I initially plugged in a 150w halogen work light and was delighted to see a steady light with none of the pulsating that you get from a regular generator. I have since used this generator with sensitive electronic equipment such as a large screen TV and amateur radio equipment and couldn’t be more pleased with the results, I would highly recommend this generator! – Steve Altrincham
What’s the Downside…?
Many people have noticed that it can get pretty tricky to refill the oil since it’s placed at an awkward angle. Fortunately, the generator comes with a small funnel to help you ease this process.
Another drawback related to the oil is that the tank doesn’t have a gauge to show you how much oil is needed, and things can get messy when guessing. But if you read this review before buying, make sure to remember that the oil capacity is 0.35L!
It’s a steady reliable product, and for the price, I think it’s worth the money. However, it does not have an oil gauge to show you how much oil is in the generator. The guessing game can be messy unless you have a small receptacle under the base – the gap below the oil fill inlet allows for overfill. If this point was corrected, it would make it a better product. – P.J.
