Looking for a garden gazebo? You’ve come to the right place…
My aim is simple: To help you find the best gazebo for your needs.
This ultimate guide to the best gazebo includes:
- The top 3 UK gazebos available online for the best prices
- The sizes, weights, key features and material of each one
- How to secure them on patios, grass or decking
First, I’ll share my top picks of gazebo in the “Value“, “Best Buy” and “Luxury” categories.
Below that I’ll review each one in-depth and answer the most common questions.
Let’s get stuck in…
#1 Value
The cheapest and most value for money option out there.
3 x 3 Metre Outdoor Water Resistant Gazebo
An easy to assemble, lightweight (5KG), water resistant gazebo which is suitable for keeping the odd shower off your BBQ or provide cover for smokers at a party.
It’s a no frills pop-up piece so don’t expect too much of it. More suited to summer weather to protect you from the sun than windy and wintery days.
- Lightweight, only 5kg
- Easy to put up and fold away
- Small and compact for storage
- Only water resistant, not waterproof
- No sides to stop wind and side rain
- Cheap and cheerful so might not last
Approx. price range: £40
#2 Best Buy
A slight upgrade to the previous option, being waterproof and with sides.
However, at this price point don’t expect exceptionally high quality. Buy cheap, buy twice as they say…
2 x 2 Metre Waterproof Pop-up Gazebo
Perfect for small gardens, with good waterproofing and packs up nice and small. Don’t leave it up overnight in bad weather though…Some customers report that it can get blown away!
Ideal for a little extra protection and can be used in all weathers. Make sure you get it securely held down to prevent it blowing away.
- Waterproof canopy and sides
- Easy to assemble and take down
- Optional, removable sides
- Small, only 2×2 metres
- Some complaints after leaving up overnight
Approx. price range: £60
#3 Luxury
The best one of my picks and still for a decent price. Waterproof, well built, has sides and compact. All for less than £100.
3 x 3 metre waterproof, wind resistant pop-up gazebo
Comes with bars to prevent wind damage and 4 x weight bags to secure it down.
Better than most in windy and wet conditions, but if the weather is really bad be prepared to secure it properly and don’t expect house style conditions inside. It is still less than £100.
- Waterproof canopy and sides
- Easy to assemble and take down
- Optional, removable sides
- Small, only 2×2 metres
- Some complaints after leaving up overnight
Approx. price range: £60

The Benefits of a Gazebo/Marquee
Time spent in the garden is precious and often interrupted by rain in the UK!
A marquee or gazebo is a perfect way to weatherproof your party, picnic or BBQ no matter what the weather throws at you.
How to Secure a Gazebo
You’ve purchased your garden gazebo and are all set to use it. The problem is, it’s a bit windy…
Securing your pop-up gazebo down is an important step.
Pro Tip: I would not recommend leaving them up overnight unless you are sure it won’t get too windy.
There are two things you need to secure everything down properly:
- Ropes
- Weights
Ropes should attach from the material or ideally the frame. If windy, and attached to the material, it could rip the canopy cover. You will use pegs to secure the ropes into the ground.
Weights can be used to hold down the corners of the tent to prevent it from blowing away or moving. This makes it less portable.
A securing tip…
You can easily use refillable water bottles (or beer cans!) which go inside holders, like this:
