How to Buy the Best Cordless Lawn Mower
Only recently has it been possible to get a decent battery powered lawn mower. It’s a great idea, too, as there are no annoying cables to work around or limit you to a certain distance, they are quiet, very maneuverable, cheap to run and green. However, there is one major drawback…They don’t last all that long.
A good one will last just over 30 minutes so if you don’t have a large lawn you are OK. But you also have to remember to recharge it, which could be quite annoying if you forget and then have to charge it for a long time before using it. With that in mind, here is our advice on how to select the best one for you:
1. Long lasting…
Depending on how large your lawn is the mower needs to last long enough. In 30 minutes you can expect to cover around 100 square metres. No one likes a half finished job, so make sure you have enough juice to finish the mowing in one go.
You’ll be having to do this regularly so you should look for a machine which is easy to re-charge. Perhaps you can remove the battery easily and bring it inside or via another method. Whatever it is, make sure it’s easy to do so you don’t dread doing it.
These mowers are not cheap so you want to make sure you are getting the most amount of features for your money. Ideally you would expect the machine to have the equivalent specification of extras as the top of the line model from the same company.
Note: Instant charging or rapid charging batteries are great in theory but they can cost a lot more when really you probably don’t need it and it’s a little gimmicky. Look for only the features that you think are essential and within your price range.
